Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to book a brake job, whatever device or assistive technology they use. This page sets out what we have done, what we have tested, and how to tell us when we have got it wrong.
This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which is the standard usually applied to public accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. We consider the site substantially conformant. Accessibility is not a one-off task, so we treat anything that falls short as a defect to be fixed rather than a permanent state.
Every text and background pair in the design was checked with a contrast calculator before the design was signed off. Body text exceeds the 4.5:1 minimum, large text and interface boundaries exceed 3:1, and no information is conveyed by colour alone.
Everything that works with a mouse works with a keyboard, in a logical order, with a visible focus indicator on every control. There is a skip link to the main content, and no keyboard traps.
The pages use real landmarks, one h1 per page and a heading order that does not skip levels. Images carry alternative text or are marked decorative, icons are hidden from assistive technology, and form fields have real labels wired to their error messages.
Text can be resized to 200% and beyond without loss of content, and the layout reflows to a single column at 320px wide so there is no two-dimensional scrolling. Sizes are set in relative units, so your browser's own font-size setting is respected.
Movement on this site is limited to small hover transitions and a very slow, gentle zoom on the home-page photograph. All of it stops automatically if your operating system is set to reduce motion, and you can switch it off yourself in Display settings.
Required fields are marked in text as well as with an asterisk. Errors are described in words, tied to the field they belong to, and focus moves to the first problem so you are never left guessing what went wrong.
The Display settings button in the bottom corner of every page lets you change how the site looks. Your choice is stored on your own device and nothing is sent to us.
One thing worth being straight about: this is a preferences panel, not an accessibility overlay. It changes our own styling and nothing else. It does not attempt to detect your screen reader, rewrite the page's structure or "fix" the site on the fly, because those products routinely interfere with the assistive technology people already have set up the way they want it. The underlying page is built to be accessible without the panel.
Testing was carried out with automated checks across every page, plus manual keyboard-only navigation, browser zoom to 400%, and review of the page structure as exposed to assistive technology. Automated tools catch perhaps a third of real accessibility problems, so the manual pass is the part that matters most.
The pricing table on the services page is wide, so on a narrow screen it scrolls sideways within its own box. The page itself never scrolls sideways, but if a table is awkward for you, call us and we will read the numbers out.
